I’ve used this app for years. It was one of four points of navigation we used on a self drive adventure through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. I am so sad that this app is no longer free. If you ever need a beta tester, let me know. Probably one of my favorite apps but 35$ a year is excessive on a teacher salary for something I don’t need. I’d pay 35$ for a lifetime access.
If you have a weak signal, this app will keep asking for a purchase, although you have already bought it. You can’t even add an anchor when your signal is weak. Would be a wonderful program if that could be reaolved.
Prompt assistance
A terrific little app. It’s got a simple easy-to-use interface that will help you to find your way back to your starting point. I find it especially useful whenever I park my bike or car in an unfamiliar location. It’s also great when you’re parking in a huge parking lot, especially when you’re in a hurry!
My friend once said, “leave some bread crumbs along the way if you ever need to find your way back.” Some good life advice! Of the millions of apps out there that can find a point on a map, for some reason I’ve always come back to this one. It’s simple, and works consistently for what it is supposed to do. It’s also not bad on the eyes. If I ever lose the person I’m with at a festival, we can find each other… and it doesn’t need an internet connection to get back to your car when you forget where you parked. The dev was also nice and sent me a link to unlock the app after I emailed him about the subscription and having been a long-time user. Thanks for that!
Was a great app until it became subscription based. I get it, we all want to make money but I’m deleting this one.
Have used this app for years. Excellent!
Nothing free on it now! Deleting!
Update: I wrote to the developer and he responded quickly to allow me to get the features I enjoyed before. Happy with it now. Previous: Was a great Great app. Use it all the time but they have now moved to a subscription model and long time users are not grandfathered in I guess. Can do anything with it now. What a shame
It used to be free and now it costs. There are a lot of apps out there that don’t charge
Never had such a simple solution from any software support before! For years I have loved the app’s simplicity and accuracy. I use it very often when in a rush in an unfamiliar area. Then one day suddenly I was no longer able to use any of its wonderful functions without paying something or subscribing. However, since I already paid to use the app, I wrote support to see whether there was a way to turn off the nag screen? Within a day they emailed me back I a link to fix the glitch and get back unlimited access. One tap and issue resolved! My only regret is that I can only give you 5 stars… You deserve an entire galaxy of them!
Opening up an app I have already paid for to discover that it’s now subscription based and locked out the functions I bought it for in the first place? Trash practices, bad faith.
I have used this app for years. It has taken me back to my car in unfamiliar cities, led me in and out of the wilderness back and forth from spots I wanted to return to, and even helped me remember where the heck I’m a giant parking lot that I parked. It was a tool I relied on and trusted. …but no more. I get it. Developers need to get paid. Here’s the problem: I *did* pay for it, and now I’m expected to pay for it again and again. When this app went to a subscription model I wasn’t rewarded as someone who’s used the app forever. I was simply surprised with a demand for a few bucks when I went to a Christmas parade with my family and needed to park on an unfamiliar side street a few blocks away. This has been one of my favorite go-to apps that I’ve always shared. Now it’s just a tragic story of lots of thought on design and none on appreciating the current customer base. Sad.
I paid to get this app years ago and now they want to charge an annual fee. I hope there is a class-action suit for breach of contract.
Another app going the subscription model route. The cost is $60 per year. Not used enough to justify the yearly cost. I will delete the app. Update: Upon reaching out to developer, I was granted full access to app. App works well when no internet is available.
Very useful and excellent application it helps me alot.
Wasn’t a subscription app when I paid for it before and now I get to pay per month? How awesome! Deleting and staying away from this dev. Don’t forget to pay me for this review—I expect $5.99 a month as long as this is posted… blah blah I have to maintain my phone servers and keep my phone charged and stuff and like… that costs monies so gimme all yours n stuff— yeah no thanks.
Mua lifetime rồi giờ bắt mua lại, restore k được
This was a nice basic app that I’ve used for several years. They recently updated it, but then required people who updated to pay a fee- without informing them that this was part of the update. I consider that deceptive practices. I understand that a person should be paid for work, so they should seek donations or inform users ahead of time, but for $60 a year I’m ditching it.
I have had this for a long time and now it’s not even functional without a subscription. It was ok but not worth more than 5 bucks for life. Time 2 Delete
So dumb when that’s primarily what I used this app for
I was an anchor pointer user for years. I think it got bought or merged into this gps app. Interface looks mostly the same. Anchor did a simple job reasonably well. The new system offers a few more features. In exchange they upped the price from free to $5 / month. Insane subscription fee for an app that does this little. Were it say $3 one time or something I would have gladly paid. At this point if you are reading a review, pick another app.
I had this app through a lifetime giveaway and everything worked perfectly until I updated to the latest version. Now, nothing works and I’m being prompted to pay on every click, WHY?
Very good app but not for 60 dollars per year-delete
The seller just changed this app to steal all useable functionality from users who already had this app. How would like it if your car maker changed your car you were already driving so that the brakes only worked under a subscription model?
If you’re hiking, or traveling in an unknown zone with no reliable cell coverage, you can use this app to pin markers and easily go back to them. The modern technological equivalent of Theseus thread. This app can get you out of places and find your way to coordinates. Best of all, it doesn’t need cell phone coverage to work!
Excellent app! Just what I needed! Thanks!
This app works great I use it to get me out of the woods no matter where I’m at it will all ways point you in the right directions. A+
This is a very nice app and I use it a lot. The name under the icon says Anchor Point but the name in the App Store is GPS Navigation.
Very nice addition to my app collection. Does what it says with no fuss. Very convenient for outdoors activities
This really is a great app. I like that it is a one time subscription fee and have a feeling I got it at a great price so thank you! Also…I never wandering around a shopping mall or hospital parking lot! Amazing!
Works great. Keep it up
Great for finding your car or when out bushwhacking! But note that distances are “as the bird flies” and may not reflect reality; certainly not on city streets. Just don’t confuse this for other mapping purposes to help you navigate. The beauty is the simplicity: follow the arrow.
Works good
This is a great app!!
it seems like a Swiss tool thinking of the Swiss Army knife I have that can do a lot of different things and it does them well as it continue to update I find it even more useful it is on my home screen on every device I have that should tell you something.
Good luck
👍🌹
OUTSTANDING, REGULARLY UPDATED This world traveler uses it often. It has never had a glitch. (Retired Delta Air Lines pilot.)
I especially appreciate that I can create anchor waypoints by typing in a lat/long. Simple interface and does what it’s supposed to. Great for bushwhacking to waterfalls and caves—and back to car.
Very handy
You use it up north always
I love it, it is good actually
Very good
Updated review...still saving me from myself! Been on my home screen for two years +. Never disappoints! 5 stars for giving me one less thing to be worried about. Thank you!
I have never lost my car using this app
Excellent way to save and recall Geo locations from your phone for all situations.
Point in the wrong direction
